Lighthouses
And how and why we need them more than ever and why we need to BECOME one
“I am a tough motherfucker, and nothing stops me. I am not going to let anything outside me
be the source of my choice.”
Christopher Hughes
What you focus on grows.
said a good friend who has dedicated her life to the spreading of LIGHT.
And she was beautiful, and she embodies the gentle things she says.
And my other friend stood there like a tower.
holding space,
gently but firmly proclaiming the simple truths of life.
And the music took us all. Beyond
and there was beauty and intricate design of the baroque style in the old castle.
And there was silence.
and a hope that things can be different.
That no matter the madness of the world, and there is a lot of it for sure…
We can find moments of Peace, Serenity, and Beauty and, for lack of better Word:
LOVE.
And I was happy that I was at the right space and the right time and grateful I can do my little bit in spreading the LIGHT,
with all my beauty and might.
And those event spaces and places are badly needed.
in the coming days, weeks, months, and years,
as we are entering, deeper and deeper, a time of great change,
that has been prophesized by almost any tradition worthy of its name.
And we have to adapt.
We have to grow.
We have to glow.
We have to SHINE.
And for any of that to be real and useful to the greater whole
Something old needs to die so something new can be born.
And we have to start with ourselves.
and clean up or own the house first.
Not to deny the necessity of collective action and community spirit,
but to ensure we can actually be a contribution and not a burden to the community.
And even if you have not yet realized the value of living like that.
We can do it for selfish reasons.
For when the storms hit
and the Titanic starts sinking,
the first thing that will go overboard is dead weight.
Metaphorically speaking;
and hopefully not, but it may well become a reality for some when shit hits the fan.
And this is not to be rude or lacking compassion,
but a harsh reality that may come to pass if and when we temporarily fall back to the state of nature.
Where life can often can be nasty, brutish, and short.
OR maybe it can be something totally different, and we will eat rabbit stew or carrots and potatoes, listening to stories of old by the fire, and return back to innocence.
grateful for having survived the day,
and welcoming the opportunity of another.
I do not know what timeline humanity chooses to choose.
That is not up to me.
But I know that whatever comes, I will create beauty and spread hope and inspiration.
Open up and prop up and create spaces of togetherness.,
and gentle sanctuaries of LIGHT,
for those who come with open hands, open hearts, and open minds;
respecting the gentle sacredness that is held there
and willing and ready
to change.
For those who are not willing to change….
I pray you find ways to choose change anyway.
For it will no longer be a mere option or weekend workshop luxury.
It will be, and already is.
as normal and necessary
as brushing your
teeth.
May the change flow lightly and gently,
and may you all find ways to wise teachers, strong protectors
and most importantly
the inner LIGHT
that never wanes.
A heart that is sturdy AND soft
communities that are resilient AND kind,
and a gentle way to come out
for the madness of your
mind.
With love and blessings,
creator of gentle spaces of togetherness
